Matthews, NC
Bright Blessings was founded in 2005 by PPC members, John and Amy Cervantes and their 3 sons. What started as a family project has grown to serve more than 27,000 homeless and impoverished children in 2022. Through their core programs; Bless-A-Birthday, Bless-A-Baby, Gift of Literacy, and Gift of Care, they bring joy, care and hope to local homeless and impoverished children. Thousands of volunteers of all ages serve to make it all possible.
Our PPC family is actively involved in the programs of Bright Blessings, - which is conveniently located in Matthews - in different ways all throughout the year. Our Sunday School classes and Youth Group volunteer often, wrapping gifts and packing gifts bags. Several PPC members make weekly deliveries to schools. Here on the PPC campus, if you walk through the glass doors of the administration building, you will see a set of shelves with colorful boxes and baby décor – that’s our Bright Blessings “Bless-a-Baby” collection area. The Presbyterian Women collect baby items for Bless-a-Baby as part of their regular mission work. There are opportunities for all ages to serve at Bright Blessings and the PPC family will tell you, Bright Blessings is a bright spot in the community and beyond.
