MEMBERSHIP
Are you looking for a new church home? PPC is excited to welcome you into the family. It is our hope that through membership at PPC, you will find a family of faith where you can grow in your faith and discover a place where you can use your gifts to the glory of God. For Presbyterians, church membership is a covenant (a commitment made to God and others). “One becomes an active member of the church through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and acceptance of his Lordship in all of life. Baptism and a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord are the visible signs of entrance into the active membership of the church.” (Book of Order G-5.0101)
We encourage you to speak to one of the pastors about your decision or any questions you may have. They are available to talk with you following any worship service, or you may wish to contact them by phone or email during the week.
MEMBERSHIP AT PPC CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED IN ONE OF THREE WAYS
TRANSFER
You may unite by transferring your church membership by letter. We will receive into our membership by a letter anyone who is in good and regular standing in any Trinitarian Church. We do not require re-baptism but accept as valid any baptism administered by an ordained minister in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, regardless of the mode used.
REAFFIRMATION
You may unite by a Reaffirmation of your Faith. Persons who cannot secure a certificate of transfer or who have been inactive in the church may be received in this way. If one wishes to make a fresh beginning in the Christian life by rededicating himself/herself to God, he/she may be received by reaffirming the vows of membership before the congregation.
PROFESSION
You may unite by Profession of Faith. Profession of Faith involves answering several questions affirmatively before the congregation.
WHEN DO MEMBERS JOIN?

Typically, PPC has new member Sundays 4 times a year; one each quarter. After meeting with the pastors, those who sense God’s leading to unite with PPC in covenant membership, meet with the session and then join through membership vows offered to God in a Sunday worship service. The pastors will discuss which date best suits your schedule.
WHAT IF I'VE NEVER BEEN BAPTIZED?

If you wish to join but have never been baptized by any denomination at any age in the past, please contact one of the pastors who will work with you to discuss both baptism and membership.
