BACKPACKS OF LOVE MINISTRY
Yes, the campus is closed but we are working hard to assist families from Clear Creek, Bain and the community who are in need of food. If you or someone you know is in need please contact Pastor Katie.
We are working safely and practicing social distancing so that we are able to fill hungry bellies, thanks to your generous donations!
We are still collecting donations for this ongoing effort.
Right now our most needed items are:
canned meats, breakfast items(individually packaged grits, oatmeal), canned vegetables and canned fruit.
We are also collecting $25 gift cards to Food Lion and Aldi to be given to the families to supplement their shopping needs. For details on where to send a gift card donation, contact Pastor Katie.
Food can be dropped off in the large brown collection bin located under the portico at the Preschool entrance.
THE SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM IS NOT MEETING AT THIS TIME DUE TO THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK. CONTACT THE SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM OF MECKLENBURG COUNTY FOR MORE INFORMATION OR FOOD DELIVERY .

RISE AGAINST HUNGER
Several times each year Philadelphia volunteers will gather in the Kerr Building to help construct at least 12,000 meals to be sent overseas to needy families in poverty stricken countries. This mission is called RISE AGAINST HUNGER and our participation will help offset one of the biggest problems in the world today. We will need at least 80 volunteers to complete this project that should take about two hours from start to finish. Lunch for the volunteers will be provided. Your support of this mission will be deeply appreciated by those facing hunger on a daily basis.
10 CENTS A MEAL OFFERING
On the second Sunday of each month, we collect a special offering that goes to the Charlotte Presbytery to distribute to local agencies that provide hunger relief. We ask individuals to donate 10 cents per meal to help fight hunger.
